Safety at Home During Coronavirus

COVID-19 has presented the world with unique challenges. In the home health industry, we recognize that some individuals may feel stressed inviting someone into their home. But we want you to know that at Reliance Home Health Care we know how important our services are to clients at home who need our help. We’re continually evaluating healthcare updates, studying guidelines and addressing ways to prevent transmission to keep you, your family and our own caregivers as safe as possible.

Our caregivers wear gloves and masks and self-check for any symptoms before visiting you. We check our patients for fever, shortness of breath and/or a cough. If symptoms are present our caregivers wear the more protective N95 masks as needed. Off duty, our caregivers follow CDC-guidelines including practicing social distancing, avoiding crowds, wearing masks in public and regular hand washing.

For the safety of your loved ones and our caregivers, we encourage you to:

  • Use technology like Zoom, Facetime and Skype to keep in touch

  • Call family more often on the telephone. Want to brighten someone’s day? Send the individual a note in the mail to simply say hello and show you care.

  • Try to keep enough food and medication on hand for several weeks.

  • Talk to your caregivers about special concerns or fears.

  • Encourage loved ones to stay as physically active as possible. A healthier diet can also improve both physical and mental health. Meal preparations from a caregiver can help in this regard.

Home should be your safe place. We want to help our clients feel their best, at home.

Have any questions? Check out great online resources like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or give us a call at 610-896-6030. We’re here to help!
